Meaning: looking at their bright side is to find some redeeming quality about the person.

Question: This looking at someone’s bright side, I find that many people use this as an excuse... like people who stay in abusive relationships and justify it by saying: ”but there’s a good side to him/ her”, etc. Can you comment on this?

Meaning: Ding-dong is the sound of a doorbell (doormat---doorbell). It is also a derogatory term meaning a silly or foolish person, someone who doesn’t think.

Question: I find it easier to forgive when I don’t have to deal with the person all the time but how can one do this if you are with a person who keeps on doing the same things over and over?
